I Think I’m Gonna Like It Here
“God gives us dreams a size too big so that we can grow in them.”

When I was little I competed in a ton of pageants. Both my mother and grandmother were involved in the Texas pageant system, and while I refused hairspray, any ounce of makeup and sparkly dresses, I found myself really loving participating in them. Meeting new friends and being on stage were just swell to this grade school kid.
I only did one pageant that asked for talent. I knew I wanted to sing, even though I had never done it in public at that time. Somehow I was left to choose between Tomorrow from Annie and Part Of Your World from Little Mermaid. I opted for Tomorrow. What can I say…I am a movie musical baby.
I wore the red dress, shook like a leaf and sang the song that every girl in the audience knew. I was petrified. I do remember leaving the stage and thinking, that was fun…I want to go again.
Well…I am.
I will be in the 2012 revival cast of Annie opening on Broadway in November playing at the Palace Theatre.
After many months of auditioning, one full day of dancing/singing callbacks that followed my red-eye flight from my LA Marathon, and 2 months of keeping things on the down low, they finally did a full press release on Playbill and BroadwayWorld.Com. I am so excited to begin this endeavor with the incredible James Lapine directing. I will be performing in the ensemble and understudying Grace Farrell. Show details aren’t out yet, but we do start rehearsals mid-August, previews begin Oct. 3rd and opening is November 8th.
So there you have it. My news is out and I couldn’t be more grateful. My grade-school-pageant-singing-makeup-shunning inner child is still in disbelief.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! I KNEW it was gonna be big news. So happy for you and can’t wait to see it!:)
