It’s That Time Of Year

“There aren’t enough days in the weekend.”

Good morning friends! Welcome back! I don’t know about you guys but I need a weekend to recover from my weekend.

Friday was one of my favorite days of the year…Radio City audition time. I know it sounds crazy, but many of my friends who I have been working with over the past 7 years with the show, either don’t live here or don’t really do any other contracts besides Radio City. It always feels like the first day of school on audition day. Friday morning I met up with my LA friend Emily for Dunkin Donuts coffee and a train ride down to Rockefeller. Emily and I worked together in Nashville last year. Needless to say, we had a great time in Nashville.

The awesome thing about Radio City auditions that sorta set themselves apart is that even though there are thousands of people that show up, they are as organized and as efficient as anything I have ever seen. No time is wasted. But all went great and as always it was a lot of fun. Being a Christmas fan, Christmas songs in May sorta makes my heart happy. Don’t judge.

Saturday morning was my 10K in Central Park. It was a charity race for healthy kidneys so the registration fees go towards something other than a race t-shirt. We had some really warm weather, and with it being the park, the course is already rough. I pulled through pretty well though I think. M came and met me at the finish line and then we stuck around a bit to listen to the live music they had. And of course, I had to take a picture with the Kidney himself.

Then it was my friend, Sarah’s, bridal shower. Lauryl is the Maid of Honor, so I have been along for the planning ride since Sarah got engaged. It was nice to see all the little touches Lauryl added, and the party itself was a lot of fun. I am not one for games really, but the 2 that they had us play had me in stitches. Since Sarah and Adam got engaged while Sarah was working on a cruise ship, the party was nautical themed and the girls had sailor hats. Lauryl put so much thought into everything, that it was so wonderful to see how it all came together.

Also, now that I am D’s Maid of Honor, I am like a sponge with wedding/bridal stuff. I got home from the party and texted D with how excited I am about planning hers. I realize I have a lot of time, but I feel like being excited is so…well….exciting.

Sunday, Lauryl and I hit the Hudson River for a run. I got in a very warm and exhausting 10.5 miles. It felt great to be back on my running route, but I am going to opt for earlier next time to beat the heat. But all was cured when M and I headed to Boofus’s for Mays-giving. You read that right…Thanksgiving in May = Maysgiving.

Boofus smoked a turkey (I had salmon), there was stuffing, pumpkin pie, and so many sides and other desserts to feed an army. We sat under the stars, ate til our hearts were content and laughed. Boofus just wanted his friends to come together and he wanted to use his smoker. Thus, Maysgiving.

See…I need a vacation from my weekend! No complaints though. This week is significantly calmer so I can get a few more important things, like Meaux man’s hair, taken care of.

Happy Monday!
